Veg’d Organics Veggie Ketchup was imagined by a mom, created by a chef and loved by kids of all ages.

Marifer Vergara couldn’t get her son to eat his vegetables. It worried her that he wasn’t getting the proper nutrition he needed. She quickly realized that while her son wouldn’t eat his vegetables he’d eat lots of ketchup without any problems what so ever.

That’s where she came up with the idea. To create a ketchup packed with “hidden vegetables” that her son would gobble up.

She brought her idea to her friend and professional chef of 15 years Gina Eckstadt. Gina got to work on developing this perfect veggie-packed ketchup of Marifer’s dreams.

Soon Veg’d Organics Veggie Ketchup was the hit of South Florida, with everyone giving it rave reviews.

Their company’s values are clear and simple. 1. Eating Healthy is Not A Luxury. 2. Have Passion For Innovation In Food. 3. Quality - What We Do, We Do Well. 4. The Golden Rule Applies For People, Product, and The Planet, and 5. Constantly Evolve.

That all sounds great, doesn’t it? But does it actually taste good? Does it really taste like ketchup? Do kids really like it?

Veg'd Organics Ketchup Fry Dipping

We put it to the test. We were gifted a couple bottles of Veg’d Organics Veggie Ketchup to try it out for ourselves.

We started with some basic goodness…home-cooked fries.

We simply wedged and oven-baked a few potatoes with some salt, seasonings, and a little olive oil in the oven at 450 degrees for around 25 minutes.

Then we got busy on our favorite part of our job…EATING!

With our first bite we discussed how we could taste the veggies, and that we weren’t sure whether kids would as well. However, by the third or fourth ketchup covered fry we decided that it was actually really good. It tastes like “fancy ketchup”.

What does that mean? Well, it tastes like ketchup for sure, but it has more to it than that. It’s elevated. It tastes like the “fancy ketchup” some high-end restaurants serve with their expensive truffle fries. Homemade and special tasting.

We really enjoyed it.

Then we tried it out on some kids we knew. They ate it all up without even a question, a funny face, or a comment.

When we asked them if they liked the ketchup they simply said, “yeah”.

Success! The kids didn’t even taste any difference. They ate the hidden veggies without any protest at all. In the end we even told them there were carrots and beets and such in their ketchup. They looked through the puddle of ketchup on their plates and said, “no there’s not”, and finished it up.
